Coming Up: 

🏁🏎️ Pinewood Derby Race, Saturday 1/31/26, 12:00pm

• Our annual race event featuring 50+ cars competing. Scouts, siblings, and adults all get in on the action!

• Awards for champions in each Den, and overall Pack champion.  

• Best in class awards also presented for car designs in the following categories:

  • America 250: Celebrating the nation's 250th birthday in 2026

  • Fast Food: Incorporating food themes into the design

  • Do Your Best: Designs that represent the spirit of our Cub Scout motto

⛪ Service of Commissioning for The Rev. Caroline Vickery, Sunday 2/15/26, 3:00pm at FIPC

• For 63 years the congregation of Faith Immanuel Presbyterian Church and Scouting have enjoyed a strong partnership in youth and family mission

• Along with the congregation, Pack 256 families are invited to celebrate and welcome the new Pastor during a Service of Commissioning; a reception will follow

• Full Scouting uniform is appropriate for this occasion

• The annual banquet-style dinner celebrates and honors our Arrow of Light (Dragon patrol) Scouts for achieving the final rank in Cub Scouts and crossing into Scouts BSA.

• We invite all Pack families to celebrate this milestone with us.

🛷 Cub Scout Klondike Derby, Saturday 3/14/26 at Hidden Valley Scout Reservation

• Cubs participate in round-robin events like sled pull, ski race, rope & bucket, backyard bass and more, testing their skills and promoting friendly competition

• All Scouts attending Saturday event only, cost is $10 per Scout payable by cash, check or Zelle to pack256pa@gmail.com 

• Bring your own lunch and snacks

• Departing from FIPC at 8:00am, returning to FIPC 5:30pm

• Yellow Pack T Shirt and weather-appropriate outdoor activity attire should be worn (the event is outside)

• Penn State Master Watershed Stewards will demonstrate this super-easy, early spring method for adding native trees or bushes to wetland areas

Why make a deposit now?

• A limited number of spots are earmarked for our Pack pending camper deposits.  Making a deposit guarantees you a spot to attend.    

What are the dates? 

• Rising Tiger, Wolf, Bear attend June 26-28

• Rising Webelos, AOL attend June 26-June 30

What is the full cost (including deposit)?

• Rising Tiger, Wolf, Bear = $210 per scout, $118 per adult

• Rising Webelos, AOL = $380 per scout, $185 per adult

• Earned Scout account funds can be applied to fees

• Upcoming spring Camp Card fundraiser can be applied to fees

• Need-based camperships available through New Birth of Freedom Council, https://newbirthoffreedom.org/camping/campership-information/

• We want to ensure summer camp is affordable for everyone who wants to attend; speak to Mr. Nick or Mr. Brad to discuss additional options.
